Unfortunately, theft of mail continues to be an issue for the people of Wright County as well as most jurisdictions in the state and around the country. Many times thieves are searching for checks, credit card information and other documents that they can later use to commit identity theft and fraud. These types of crimes often increase during tax time as tax rebates and other checks may be in the mail. If you witness people or vehicles near mailboxes that appear to be suspicious contact law enforcement. Many residents now have cameras on their property which can be helpful after the fact but we also want to remind residents to be mindful of not only their own mail but also their neighbors as well.
