The City of Otsego would like to inform you a small diameter test well will be drilled along the New Magnolia Trail near 62nd Street Cul-de-sac beginning the week of January 20th to evaluate ground water aquifer levels as part of a larger hydrogeologic study. Equipment mobilization is anticipated on January 15th.
Drilling activities are expected to be completed in the first week of February. During this time, the New Magnolia Trail will be closed to ensure public safety while the work is underway.
What you may expect during project activity:
- Ground drilling sounds
- Engine and air compressor noise
- Construction-related vehicle activity near the work area
Noise levels from drilling operations is expected to range from approximately 85–95 decibels near the equipment, similar to heavy construction machinery or a diesel truck. Noise will decrease with distance from the site. Some minor ground vibration may be noticed very close to the work area. Project location shown on the map below
