Be ready! As the seasons shift, so does the weather—and in Minnesota, that can mean anything from thunderstorms and tornadoes to extreme heat or flooding. April 7 to 11 is Severe Weather Awareness Week, making it the perfect time to review your family’s emergency plans, update supplies, and stay informed about what to do when severe weather strikes.
Each day of the week focusses on a different weather safety topic:
Monday: Alerts and warnings
Tuesday: Severe weather, lightning and hail
Wednesday: Floods
Thursday: Tornados
(with statewide tornado drills at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm)
Friday: Extreme Heat
Otsego Fire & Emergency Services Department encourages all residents to take this time to prepare. Severe weather can strike quickly—but with awareness and planning, we can all help protect our families, neighbors, and community.
Visit www.weather.gov or the Otsego City website for preparedness tips, emergency alert sign-ups, and local response resources.
