Carrick’s Landing Park Reopens with Community Celebration

Otsego residents gathered September 16 to celebrate the grand reopening of Carrick’s Landing Park and its many new riverfront amenities. Updates include an ADA-accessible dock and kayak launch, a boardwalk with overlook deck, improved fishing access, paved trails, a picnic shelter, native landscaping, and a Paddle Port rental station linking to Norin Landing.

Funded in part by a $350,000 Minnesota DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant and additional City investment, the project highlights Otsego’s commitment to recreation and river access. Neighbors, families, and local officials enjoyed tours, cookies, and refreshments as they marked the park’s transformation and renewed connection to the Mississippi River.

Celebrate Fall at Prairie Park’s Free
Pumpkin Patch Event!                  

Join us for a fun-filled morning of autumn activities. Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and stroll the decorated Pumpkin Patch Trail, stopping at activity stations and trick-or-treating along the way.

Registered children will receive one pumpkin to take home while supplies last (pumpkins are not guaranteed). A live DJ will keep the party going with kid-friendly Halloween tunes for a themed dance party. Families can snap photos in the festive fall photo area, and leashed dogs are welcome—special treats included, no registration needed!

In case of bad weather, the event will move indoors to the City Shop (13400 90th St NE). Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to CAER.
