Kayak Rental Details

This self-serve rental system, known as Paddle Port, allows users to rent kayaks at Norin Landing Park and return them at Carrick’s Landing Park. The program is designed to accommodate paddlers of all skill levels. Both parks are connected via the Mississippi River Water Trail, providing a scenic route for paddling enthusiasts.

• Rental Location: Norin Landing Park (10599 Kadler Avenue NE, Otsego, MN 55330)

• Return Station: Carrick’s Landing Park (9050 Quantrelle Avenue NE, Otsego, MN 55330)

Rentals can be made up to 21 days in advance and are not available for same day booking unless reserved before 8:45 am.

IMPORTANT: You will be responsible for ensuring you have a ride back to your car once you complete the river route and return your Kayak, life jacket, and paddle to the Carrick's Landing return station. Best practice is to station one car at the return parking lot and drive back the second vehicle to Norin Landing.
All rentals need to be returned by 4:55 pm or they are subject to a $100 late fee!

Easy Steps On How To Rent The Kayak

1. Start here with the Registration Website 
   
   
2. Select Norin Landing Park, the date you would like to paddle, and the type of watercraft you'd like to rent (there are 6 single kayaks and 2 tandem kayaks to choose from).
   
   
3. Kayaks are available for $30 per day (a credit card is required to rent and you must be 18 years of age).
   
   
4. Complete the waiver form to receive your purchase receipt and access code by email and text. You’ll need this code to open and close the lockers. 

Kayak Rental Tips

• Timeliness of accessing your locker is important. Your rental window for accessing your locker will begin at your scheduled rental time. You will have access to your locker for the duration of your rental timeframe.            
  • When returning your kayak and equipment, if your rental window ends at 5:00 pm, your locker should be opened by 4:55 pm to ensure that your equipment is returned on time and available for the next potential rental. You will not have access to your locker after your rental window ends.   
  • If you are late and require assistance with opening your locker after your scheduled return time, you may be charged a fee for the call out. After 5:00 pm, please contact the Emergency line at 
    1-877-274-6492 for assistance in unlocking the station and returning the equipment.  
  • Do not leave or abandon the equipment outside of the rental station. You will be charged full price for replacement of lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.” 
• Never share your locker access with anyone else. You are responsible for the equipment in your locker during your time period.
  
  
• Be prepared to sanitize as necessary to protect yourself from COVID-19 or any other virus. Parks and Recreation does not provide sanitizing materials or equipment.
